THE Salbahes proved themselves too much for the Moon Lights after defeating them 105-77 in last Tuesday’s game of the Miller Lite Invitational Basketball League at Gualo Rai Court.
After securing their lead in the late first half, the Salbahes had nothing else to worry about, except maintaining their distance from the Moon Lights.
Salbahe’s Andy Mortos offered a quick set of lay-ups, offering four points for his team. He was fouled twice in his attempts for the basket, but that didn’t stop the Salbahes from catching another two extra points.
The Salbahes reached their prime of the game during the third quarter, when they gapped a 20-point lead ahead of the Moon Lights. Leading scorer Marlon Sison from the Salbahes found his opportunity behind the three point line and fired two perfect shots that raised his team by another six points.
The Moon Lights, also known as the Magics, had no time to turn the game around by end of the fourth quarter. Moon Light’s Amor Casabuena and Mike Umali were successful at sealing in another 10 points for the team, but the time ran out before they could go for another basket.
Unfortunately for the second game between VCC and Trinity, their match had to be cancelled due to rain. The Miller Lite Invitational Basketball League committee will decided their rematch at a later date.
